This dragon's colour scheme is based on a sea slug (nudibranch) that I saw on TV. It was just so cute and then the black with yellow stripes colour scheme was so eyecatching that I couldn't get it out of my head and I had to draw a dragon as a tribute. I love sea creatures, all those coral reef ones are such pretty amd bright colour schemes.13th July 2004

Now even though this dragon is dark/black, he doesn't look B&W. There's a nice warm brown tone to his coloring, that makes it more lifelike than the first couple I commented on.

Hmm, must be the difference between Derwent (the new pencils) and WHSmith watercolour pencils. I think the watercolour ones do give a different sort of colour but Derwent blend better and give a smoother finish.
