Description
Prophetic is a ooak (one of a kind) kirin sculpture. He is made from polymer clay over a wire and foil armature, painted in acrylic, and haired with tibetan lamb fur.Prophetic is about 6 inches from chest to bum, and about 9 inches tall to the top of his horns. His tail and horns are made from a flexible clay that prevents them from breaking. Prophetic has inset green resin eyes, and his scales, horns, and hooves have periwinkle iridescence on them.
He's not currently for sale; I am going to an art show in a few months and he will be for sale there. If he doesn't sell he'll go on etsy. If you're in the area, the show is called Artfest Kingston, it's in Kingston, Ontario and takes place June 30th, July 1st and July 2nd.
If you're interested, I am currently taking commissions! You can find commission information on my website here: [link] sculptures start at $200.

Gorgeous! I love the pose, and the details on the antlers and scales on the back are awesome!

This is very cool, though I'd say it's more like a unicorn than a kirin, which are dragon deer.

Thank you It has very horse like anatomy, but with the cloven hooves and scales I'm still comfortable calling it a kirin

FOIL!!!!!
i've worked with ceramic clay when i was in school, but then wanted to try polymer clay when i got home because i thought that would be a bit less of a mess. but the first sculpture i made was a bit big and when i put in the oven it cracked and sadly fell apart. i tried one more time with a paper clip armature and it still didn't work right. i kind of gave up until i could thinking of a way to get it work right, and i think a foil inside is just what i need!

Haha yes! I have a tutorial or two in my gallery that might help a bit. I do multiple bakes so there is never a closed space for things to crack. When I get cracks it's because I take the sculpture out of the oven before it has cooled down fully. Good luck!

the cracks i got happened while it was in the oven, but i suspect that that was just because i had too much clay. Thank you for telling me you have tutorials in you're gallery. i've done searches on DA and it usually gives me tuts for jewelery making and not for bigger sculptures

I love his horns...and the hair looks so natural.
I also love how you did the picture; he could be a leader, watching out for danger while the others rest. *overactive imagination*

I'm no sculptor, but the hairing is verrrrry great! !
It's very subtle, so it's like, it's growing out of the sculptor OwO
