Description
*full view please*I used Eva McDermott's lovely "Leaf On Snow" photograph for reference. Which can be found here:

If you get a chance, I recommend checking out her gallery!
I'm dissapointed that I wasn't able to show the fading from dark to light on the leaf as good as it is in the photograph. This is a photo of the painting, since it's too big for my scanner.
For the snow texture, which you can't see unless you look at it in person, I poured salt onto wet ink washes and let it dry, so the salt could absorb the ink and leave a funky texture.
Leaf ink wash project for drawing II
11x 15 inches, watercolor paper, india ink, dip pen, and salt
EDIT: Sorry you guys! the pic got resized on accident to only 600 pixels wide! I fixed it, for any of you who like large files.

Really hard work! The slightly abrupt change from dark to light is actually only visible from really up close, but from a normal distance it simulates it quite well! It's beautiful and seems to have a lot of character
