Station Thirteen "Lucky Thirteen" is located on 55th Ave in West Bayside, East River County. It is home to Engine Thirteen, Tender Thirteen, and Brush Thirteen. Station Thirteen is Bayside's wildland fire station, tasked with protecting the wildland-urban interface to the north west of the city. Station Thirteen is part of Battalion Three, District Three.Update 9/24/23: The former Engine Thirteen (AP1313) has been retired, and placed up for sale due to age.
Engine Thirteen (Shops # EP2302) Engine Thirteen is staffed by up to: 1 FF/Engineer (EMT/Paramedic), 1 Lieutenant (EMT/Paramedic), and 2 of either FF/EMTs and/or FF/Paramedics. Total normal staffing: 4 and maintains a ALS response level. The FF/Engineer an one of the FF/EMT or FF/Paramedics will cross staff Tender Thirteen as needed, with the Lieutenant and remaining FF/Engineer or FF/Paramedic staffing Brush Thirteen as needed. Engine Thirteen is set up with four hosebeds: one with 1000' of 5" large diameter supply hose preconnected to a four way hydrant valve, one with 500' of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose, one with 300' of 1 3/4" attack hose, and one empty tray used to store three 150' high rise packs of 1 3/4" attack hose. In addition to it's hosebeds, Engine Thirteen also carries three 150' preconnected 1 3/4" crosslays, one 8' segment of 5" hard suction hose, one 15' segment of 5" large diameter supply hose in the front bumper tray, and one 25' segment of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose in the engineer's compartment.. Engine Thirteen also carries one 24' extension ladder, one 14' roof ladder, one 10' attic ladder, two sets of forcible entry tools, one 8' pike pole, one 6' pike pole, one roof hook, one denver tool, one trash hook, one dry chemical extinguisher, one pressurized water extinguisher, four spare SCBA bottles, two sets of hydrant tools, hose adapters and nozzles, one automotive lockout kit, one 300' bag of life safety rope, two 150' lengths of utility rope, one chainsaw, one K-12 saw, five collapsible traffic cones, cribbing, ten road flares, one 5 gallon bucket of quick absorbent, one wide mouth shovel, one push broom (disassembled for transport), one bolt cutter, four rolls of fire scene tape, gas monitoring devices, a thermal imaging camera, two long backboards, the crews ballistic PPE, one decon kit, one mobile data terminal, city map books, county map books, station area pre plan books, city wide hazard pre plan books, one lifepak, one trauma jump bag, one oxygen jump bag, one maternity jump bag, one spare M-15 oxygen cylinder, and a ALS jump bag.
Tender Thirteen (Shops # EP2019) Tender Thirteen is staffed by up to: 1 FF/Engineer (EMT/Paramedic), and one FF/EMT or FF/Paramedic. Total normal staffing: 0 and maintains a First Responder response level. The FF/Engineer an one of the FF/EMT or FF/Paramedics will cross staff Tender Thirteen as needed, with the Lieutenant and remaining FF/Engineer or FF/Paramedic staffing Brush Thirteen as needed. Tender Thirteen is outfitted to carry two 150' deadload 2 1/2" crosslays, four 50' rolls of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose, two 10' segments of 5" hard suction hose, one 3000 gallon portable folding tank, pond strainer connections for the 5" hard suction hose, hose adapters and fittings, one set of hydrant tools, four personal fire survival shelters, two rolls of fire scene tape, one shovel, one pulaski axe, one bolt cutter, one chainsaw,one trauma jump bag, one oxygen jump bag, one major burns kit, one thermal imaging camera, one decon kit, one mobile data terminal, city map books, county map books, station area pre plan books, city wide hazard pre plan books, the crews wildland PPE, and a first aid kit.
Brush Thirteen (Shops # CP1701) Brush Thirteen is staffed by up to: 1 Lieutenant (EMT/Paramedic), and one FF/EMT or FF/Paramedic. Total normal staffing: 0 and maintains a First Responder response level. The FF/Engineer an one of the FF/EMT or FF/Paramedics will cross staff Tender Thirteen as needed, with the Lieutenant and remaining FF/Engineer or FF/Paramedic staffing Brush Thirteen as needed. Brush Thirteen is set up with one hose bed, carrying 300' of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose. In addition to to its hosebed, Brush Thirteen also carries one 25' roll of 2 1/2" supply/attack hose, two 150' progressive hose packs of 1" forestry attack hose, and one 300' preconnected 1" booster reel. Brush Thirteen also carries one set of forcible entry tools, two dry chemical extinguishers, two spare SCBA packs, one set of hydrant tools, hose adapters and nozzles, two rolls of fire scene tape, two shovels, one brush rake, one pulaski axe, one mcloud tool, one brush hook, one drip torch, four personal fire survival shelters, one bolt cutter, three 5 gallon containers of Class A foam, one chainsaw, two traffic cones, one bison cooler full of water, two cases of MREs, one extra package of water, one decon kit, one mobile data terminal, city map books, county map books, station area pre plan books, city wide hazard pre plan books, the crews wildland PPE, and a first aid kit.
