Description The Bayside Police Department's Emergency Services Unit is split between the seven patrol districts, with the main tactical response unit operating out of District One. Each Patrol District is assigned five ESU patrol vehicles, two ESU bomb canine patrol vehicles, and two ESU squad vehicle. These officers are tasked with various patrol duties that may be above a regular patrol officers scope of training. The other special units are all assigned to the ESU station in District One for tactical operations. ESU Rescue Three has the ability to be converted into an armored ambulance should the need arise.

ESU patrol cars are staffed by two ESU patrol officers, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, one in car speed radar system, five road flares, two traffic vests, two light tactical vests, two heavy ballistic vests and helmets, two rolls of crime scene tape, one crime scene possessing kit, one gun lock for a AR-15 carbine rifle and a mossberg 590, one less lethal shotgun, one dry chemical extinguisher, one first aid kit, one AED, one Narcan overdose kit, and one stop stick kit.

ESU Bomb Canine patrol cars are staffed by one ESU patrol officer and one canine officer, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, one in car speed radar system, five road flares, two traffic vests, one light tactical vest, one heavy ballistic vest and helmet, one canine ballistic vest, one set of riot gear, one ballistic shield, two rolls of crime scene tape, one crime scene possessing kit, one gun lock for a AR-15 carbine rifle and a mossberg 590, one less lethal shotgun, one dry chemical extinguisher, one first aid kit, one AED, one Narcan overdose kit, and one stop stick kit.

ESU Unmarked patrol cars are staffed by one ESU supervisor or one ESU special duties officer, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, one bullhorn, five road flares, two traffic vests, one light tactical vest, one heavy ballistic vest and helmet, two rolls of crime scene tape, one crime scene possessing kit, one gun lock for a AR-15 carbine rifle and a mossberg 590, one less lethal shotgun, one dry chemical extinguisher, one first aid kit, one AED, one Narcan overdose kit, and one breathalyzer kit.

ESU Squad vehicles are staffed by two ESU patrol officers, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, five road flares, five collapsible traffic cones, two traffic vests, two light tactical vests, two heavy ballistic vests and helmets, two ballistic shields, two rolls of crime scene tape, one gun lock for two AR-15 carbine rifles, one set of forcible entry tools, two SCBA packs, two spare SCBA bottles, two sets of structural PPE, one dry chemical extinguisher, battery operated extrication equipment, one automotive lockout kit, cribbing, one 5 gallon bucket of quick absorbent, one wide mouth shovel, one push broom (disassembled for transport), two 300' bags of life safety rope, three class 3 rope rescue harnesses, and one first aid kit.

ESU Tactical SUVs are staffed by up to ten ESU tactical unit officers, and are equipped with forward and rear facing cameras, a mobile data terminal, five road flares, one bullhorn, two ballistic shields, two rolls of crime scene tape, one set of forcible entry tools, one less lethal shotgun, one dry chemical extinguisher, one first aid kit, and one AED.
