Thank you
It's a blend of approx 150 photos.... 30sec exposure each... so about 2h with breaks and screaming at people with torches

That's the usual process for this kind of shooting: find a place where nobody wandered in the past 2 years, set up, wait, shout to people to shut torches off, wait, wave people off the site, wait, cry to people to turn off car lights, wait, taking some spare tool and holding like a weapon and rage to everybody just fck off the place, wait, pack the things, drop the car key, trying to ask someone to give some light and finding nobody in a mile range...
Great job, I love how you could avoid light pollution and the Polaris sitting so low. (Do the stars going backwards??? Is this already on the southern hemisphere?)

Hahahahhahahaah oh yeah... exactly Β
we also had whiskey so that was helping with the morale... cause it was pretty pretty cold out there
Thank you and yes it is just below the equator - geez I would never thought of that

Some whiskey is a must for such things. It solves time and gives some warmβthe best company (doesn't produce extra light!)
Stars can do strange things when you cross the Equator. They change, for start, so this shouldn't be the Polaris (I missed the fact ) but the Southern Cross.Β
Also I learnt in the school that if you go to far North in summer (here on Northern Hemisphere) the days go longer and longer. When I first visited to Egypt I was shocked to see that even though it was mid-July when sun sets in my country about 8pm, in Aswan it went down just a nick after 6pm. Because the thing with the white midnights go reverse as you go close to the Equator (in my case to Tropic of Cancer).Β
