A fast conceptual drawing that didn't turn out as planned.I find this piece doesn't work if you focus on the negative space. which is never good, the negative and positive space should work together, not seperately.
Maybe I'll work on it some other time.

so, first of all i just want to state how much i like this, the more i look at it, the more i like it, but the only reason i like it more is because i can get around seeing just the negative space, or the black part. the face is wonderfully done, the wrinkles are superb, the eyelashes are taunting and mesmerizing. i would just work on the surroundings of those mesmerizing eyes. maybe make it less harsh, add some folds to the cloth and more of a contrast. as bethell would say, heighten the contrast on the burqa itself, but otherwise, it is just outstanding.
i cant get over how splendid the face is. wow.
i cant wait to see this in person, i might just cry when i do.

The focus is one the eyes, which look great and are full of emotions. Good work, though the drawing is a bit off-center. Was this planned?

but yes, I see what you mean with the negative space.
It's hard to find balance sometimes!

i know not, but the eyes, as
i said in a poem a while back,
"the eyes have it". meaning
the emotions in the eyes are
expressed i see the pain in
the life of this woman.
psychic pain...
it's there to plainly see.
something i have to mention.
you and Sara say you can't
create, but then you do.
i keep "creating" almost every
day. it's ok stuff, but not
like the two of you.
