Description
Blah, my god, I hate drawing curly hair VERY much.Adapted from a picture of joshua and I.
I am very sick this morning, but I managed enough energy to finish this at least.
What I like most about this is probably the lips, especially the left's, and his hair. Turns out blond hair isn't as hard as I thought it would be.
Graphite on paper.

Didn't know you drew as well! Very smooth and lovely. I'd even say it's original, quite an odd portrait!I especially like the hair, and about the rest, I could say you could have added more detail, but just a little- it looks pretty well as it is anyway.

Oh yes I love to draw I rarely upload my work on dA though.
God that hair drove my crazy...curly hair is the hardest to draw.
And I deffinitly could have added more detail but i lost interest with this drawing I guess.

Yes, I dislike drawing hair, it's a pain and I never can make it look realistic =/
But do submit your drawings, people might like them

Beautiful! I love your values; they are always great, and even your drawing style always flows smoothly. (Well, you do make amazing watercolors.) :]

Despite hating curly hair, you did a damn fine job of portraying it.

the detail in this is truly outstanding. i have no idea how you can force yourself to buckle down and do something like this. may i ask how long this took you?

Hmm, Well i've been working on it very slowly for about two days, I suppose 3 hours all together?

gee Carly,
i'm sorry you're ill today.
do you know, has anyone theorized or
explained how some people can see
and duplicate by hand, the detail most
of us mortals cannot even grasp? we
can't "carry in our minds" the image
that is natural for you. i had thought
that Zeldis was one of a kind, but she's
not, you carry that same gift, the talent
to be as exact and interpretive as she,
maybe even more so.
it could be in the heart as well as in
the mind. i don't know, but you keep
becoming more amazing.
as i said, "more please"
take care and get well, Carly

Thank you pip, I appreciate your comment, as always.
I have to say, I'm not so sure I can fully agree with you on this one
I feel like there is so much missed detail, but I guess an artist is never truly happy with their work.
But it's very good to know that you appreciate it (:

yes Carly,
there is detail lacking. you're not there
yet, but you do really seem to show
what is within your reach. i speak to
encourage that reach, because there
is a "background brilliance" in much
of what you do. reach further and
higher, Carly, otherwise you'll never
know, and the rest of us will never
see.
also, you said yourself, you weren't at
your best when you finished working on
it. factor that in, for it does have to make
a difference.
are you feeling better?
pip
