Description My take on the nation of Panem, from The Hunger Games, by Suzanne Collins. It is based on existing rail lines, vegetation types, existing industry in North America, and, of course, references in the book. The sea level has risen a couple hundred feet or so, which is also based on existing topographic maps.

wow, you're one of the few people to realize that the districts aren't huge and touching. I mean, look at 12, it was basically just a town, but everyone makes it multiple states long. Basically, I applaud you.

Awesome!!! But the book did mention floods which aren't really accounted for here.

near where Denver is today, though I was thinking it might be a bit further west, so it would be up in the mountains more

I always figure 7- lumber would be in BC because we're very big on our forestry there. But other than that, yeah, awesome. It's a pretty good take, I really hope we do get to see an actual map one day though.

yeah, i suppose i was trying to make it fairly compact, since that would be most efficient. but everyone has their favorite district

Awesome. I've always wondered where the districts were

This is an interesting take on Panem. I always see people drawing a the districts all smushed together, as if they were states (I'm guilty of this with maps I have made for myself). I like the way you did this.

just wanted to mention, that each district is only 1 city, not that entire area. i imagine that when people make these district maps, it's just he area the districts could possibly be in, not he districts themselves.

Hmm. Never thought of that... Even so, it's still a cool map.
