Description Hi,

here is my newest model Ellie. I'm planning to create more, starring her and would love you opinion about her. Do you like her? What would you change? Do you want to see more of her?
Any feedback is much appreciated. Please also check out my just-created blog at scienartic.blogspot.com . I’ve created a small two-question poll there and would be very happy to get opinions/advices/…

About Ellie:
She's a young college student who loves to travel and she's financing her studies and traveling by taking several modelling jobs.

Stay tuned for more info about her and her life
(I recomend displaying this hi-res image at full size by clicking the download button on the right)

noticed the anorexic comments.  she doesn't look like one.  her stomach is rather small.  that could be because she wears a tight fitting corset to maintain that shape.

there are women who do this sort of thing to have small stomachs.    smallest waist  I've heard is around 15-20 inches.

She is a bit skinny. Definitely shouldn't be seeing so much bone sticking out. I don't know her height, but I'm thinking if you squash her a bit height-wise (except for the face) then she should look better. Upper legs may need some adjustment to give more quad size. Other than that I think you do great work! What do you use to model if I may ask?

Hi, thanks for your feedback! I've used many DAZ and other morphs combined with my own ZBrush morphs. I've redone some of her body morphs in version 1.1 so she becomes less skinny I hope you like v1.1 more!

Could I ask you another question...? What do you use to pose your character the way you want?

ScienArtic In reply to PsykoTroniK [2014-05-08 19:31:11 +0000 UTC]

You mean the software? It is Smith Micro's Poser 2014

PsykoTroniK In reply to ScienArtic [2014-05-09 16:04:58 +0000 UTC]

Yes I meant the software. Thanks very much. Do you have to actually rig a character using the above mentioned software before you can pose it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ScienArtic In reply to PsykoTroniK [2014-05-10 07:58:21 +0000 UTC]

Ellie is based on a model called "Victoria 4" (V4) which is already rigged. Do you know V4? It is a kind of raw generic female shape. Most people take raw figures and change them the way they need (modifying the mesh) because starting form scratch would be a gigantic project.

PsykoTroniK In reply to ScienArtic [2014-05-10 11:59:42 +0000 UTC]

Yes true....it is a lot of work, but sometimes you wanna know you made it completely by yourself from scratch  and I think I'm one of them. But I completely understand what you mean because I also want to think that many people will lose interest with all the complex stuff when designing from scratch (in which case they will just cease the project), as opposed to enjoying all the finalizing and "polishing" process. I mean let's face it - those last bits are usually the awesome bits to do. For me it is when I can start with lighting and texturing . Also, to revamp something that has already been made to kinda make it your own, is great practice I think as well. So I should give that a go as well.

Version 4 ?? No I have not seen her. If you have a link, would you be so kind? In the meantime I will Google her and see what I can find.

You have been incredibly helpful by answering my questions.

So you have experience with 3D?

V4 is the widely used base female model (male base is called "Michael 4") as i know but quite old...
Here's the Link to V4: www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-2-bas…

The latest ones are called "Genesis 2 Female"/Male which are bases for other figures like "Victoria 6" or "Michael 6" also at Daz3D.

You're very welcome

PsykoTroniK In reply to ScienArtic [2014-05-13 17:29:32 +0000 UTC]

Yes I use 3ds Max. And just the other day I installed Daz3d but have not yet tried it out. I did see the Genesis models when looking at a video regarding Daz Studio though... Suppose I would make use of the Daz models and take it from there when I go about it.

As for Victoria, when I searched the other day I also found her, but noticed that she is not a free model anymore.

If I ever feel like jumping into this character creation using DAZ, I would want to know whether you can transfer models between Max and Daz...? Can you?? I haven't yet researched anything like that.

ScienArtic In reply to PsykoTroniK [2014-05-13 18:19:10 +0000 UTC]

I'm not very familiar with DAZ Studio because I use Poser, so I don't know how to transfer the figures with Daz Studio, but i know that there is a 3ds Max plugin for Poser, so you can load entire Poser scenes into Max. The Plugin is called "Poser Fusion for 3ds Max" or something like that

PsykoTroniK In reply to ScienArtic [2014-05-14 17:39:03 +0000 UTC]

Thanks very much! When I start playing around with it and fail to find something to bridge the gap between Max and Daz, then I will give Poser a try. You've been very helpful and kind.

I like it a lot, but I think this is just a little to skinny, noticeably around this hips. I think it need a litttttle bit more of a curve. Great job though!

Nice work. Gorgeous character, I really like her face. She is skinny but I kind of like it. Personally I would have made her a bit thicker and the breast a bit smaller, but this is your creation and what you've made is just fine the way she is. Keep up the good work! I would love to see more.

Very appealing character. Looking to seeing more of her. You mention changes and I have 2 small suggestions. Make her torso a bit less thin with slightly larger hips and increase her breast cup size ever so slightly.

ScienArtic [2014-03-03 12:04:31 +0000 UTC]

Alright! Thank you very much! I wanted to make her quite sporty (but not muscular) and maybe a bit slender but absolutely not anorexic! I take the anorexia topic very serious and don't want to spread a wrong message, so i guess i have to work on a version 2 of her. Other's think so too ?

Anything else worth changing?

Every feedback is much appreciated!

I have to go with the anorexic comment, her ribs, shoulders, hips, to me all look far too skinny, unhealthy even.

Lots of perfectly healthy women have a visible rib cage. I do agree that she looks skinny, though, but it's because of the proportions. She looks stretched.

OK, so you would recommend to get rid of the visible rib cage and make her more (don't know the best english therm for this "wide"?

She's more than pretty, and more than that, she is *yours*, and very skillfully presented. As a viewer (and fellow practitioner of this medium), I very much appreciate the time and effort you take in creating your own characters and presenting them with thought and care, instead of merely regurgitating boxed models and "living someone else's ideas" in your work, or presenting the same model endlessly, in nine thousand poses. Thank you for having your own mind.

ScienArtic In reply to HardBargainArt [2014-03-02 15:40:32 +0000 UTC]

Thank's alot for this feedback! It means very much to me!
But i have to admit, that she's not 100% my work. I've used an existing skin texture (actually multiple and mixed them together) and her hair are also not my work. I'm very new to 3D art and try to increase my skill so i can do that too (also the background and her panties are not my work)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

HardBargainArt In reply to ScienArtic [2014-03-02 15:56:05 +0000 UTC]

I understand that. Most of us almost always use resources that were created by others. But the fact that you are re-purposing those resources toward the realization of your ideas, and presenting the result with obvious care, is more than the bulk of 3D practitioners here can say for themselves. In an endless sea of "Lara displays her impossibly big tits from yet another angle in render 976.3", your work is a resort island. It's not so much where you obtain the resources or who created them. It's what you do with them.
