Description "I know that the night must end
And that the sun will rise
And that the sun will rise
I know that the clouds must clear
And that the sun will shine
And that sun will shine
I know
Yes I know
I know
That the sun will rise
Yes I know
I know
That the clouds must clear
I know that the night must end
I know that the sun will rise
And I'll hear your voice deep inside
I know that the night must end
And that the clouds must clear
The sun
The sun will rise
The sun
The sun will rise"
~ Lion King Broadway "Endless Night"

So last night I was listening to my iPod and I have all my favorite songs from TLK Broadway. Endless Night being one of them. I thought to myself "gee whiz there sure are a lot of pictures of Simba revolving around the sad side of the story. Is there one for the end part?" I don't know but I decided to do one. The song is pretty much Simba feeling depressed and alone that Mufasa's dead and it was his fault. But near the end he starts to feel better and stuff. I haven't seen the Broadway so I have no clue what goes on during the song Thus this picture was born! XD This was so hard, I tried really hard to make it look as best as I can, the shading, I have no clue what to think of it but honestly I like the picture, it could use work of course but it's great considering I've been listening to that song for an hour or two now... It makes me feel pumped and inspires me Umm I'm not sure if there's anything else I can say about it at the moment... I'm hungry but it's only 10! I WANT MA LUNCH!! Ah well I'll eat lunch anyway X3

Here's a video of original Broadway Simba (Jason Raize, 1975-2004) singing this song: Endless Night . Also, check out Lion King - Endless Night , which contains footage from the first film!

Enjoy!

The pleasure's all mine, Gleek!

Let me know what you think! Β

NOTE: The first one (the Broadway video) is especially poignant, as the actor playing Simba later committed suicide (about 6 or 7 years after he began playing Simba, a part he played on Broadway for approx. three years)! I guess his 'Endless Night' never really ended... Β

yeah I loved the video, it was pretty much exactly what I pictured it to be like He's truly an amazing singer, such a shame that he committed suicide oh well

I'm glad you enjoyed this most poignant of Lion King-themed media! Β

Be sure to check out the following: Jason Raize Biography and

Jason Raize - History . (As famous as he was, during the glory years [i.e. before everything went so horribly wrong], Jason had a lot of time for fans and friends alike! He really was a remarkable human being!)

It does! One site was crafted by a fan! (The woman, who was in her mid-teens when she met Raize [back in 1997], details her experiences getting to know the actor [on a purely friendship level only], while working on a dedicated fan site called 'The Raizens: A Jason Raize Page". She even attended a memorial service, held in Raize's honour, following news of his death, in 2004.) Β

You're very welcome, Gleek!

Sure is! It's just a shame, that things went so horribly wrong...

Of all the ways to die, suicide is the most tragic! Because it's so completely unnecessary!

However, we also know that a person only really considers suicide, whenever they feel they're at the end of their rope. May we always be there, with a hug - and a kind word - for those who need it the most!

yeah that happened at school and a few friends and me went and told a teacher about it. I'm not sure if it helped or not but the kid's still alive so I'm taking that as a good sign ^^ Suicide is the most tragic, I agree, because it's the last resort as they say in health class. We watched a lot of videos on it (good thing it was the end of the day or I'd be depressed all day! ), but it was really sad! We watched a movie on it! And it made me realize that this sort of thing happens everyday so I've tried to be more friendly, and smile a lot, when I'm around strangers, hoping it brightens up their day

Hopefully, the student you mentioned, is coping much better, since staff were alerted to their suicidal tendencies/attempt.

Of course, I was recently alerted to what appeared to be a person with suicidal tendencies - only to discover that the individual makes a habit of threatening suicide, whenever things don't go their way! So it's always best to play things by ear, whenever these things happen. Here are some good pointers, regarding this awful tragedy: Recognize the Warning Signs of Suicide . Follow these subtle hints, whenever someone appears to be deeply depressed, and you may just save a life! Just remember to be there for them, to listen to them (pay extra close attention to any clues indicating how low they feel), be positive, yet also comforting. Most importantly, be the non-judgmental voice that they hear, when they need a listening ear/shoulder to cry on, the most!

yeah, though I'm assuming it's all good cause they didn't really do anything else that may have prompted a thought/action but who knows? :/
