Description
TS-1083-5D 6x30mm/20x25mm Assault Carbine/Grenade Launcher Mk IIUsing a common system of subassemblies this first part of a complete weapon system that ranges from a self-defense weapon up to a man portable surface-to-air missile system. Each weapon attempts to have similar ergonometric features so that a person trained on one part of the system can use the others with a minimum of instruction. The base unit of the system is the assault carbine firing a round similar to the German G-11 rifle but has a tround (triangular/round) cross section and feeds thru the pistol grip similar to the Israeli Uzi submachinegun but clears the chamber via an ejection port in front of the trigger guard.
The main sight incorporates CCD and low light technologies and can be interfaced with the battlesuit helmet.
Not shown is the bayonet which is similar to the type used on the British Army IW assault rifle.

Dont really think you can calssify that as an assault rifle.

It sort of looks like a machine pistol on sterroids. Besides, how do you fit rifle rounds into the pistol grip?

Damn Kindle.
If it about the size of the assault rifle round remember the G-11 was 33mm long, the case of an average pistol round is 19-22m long. PDW's are of similar size but not caseless.
So it is possible a near future AR round would fit in the grip of the weapon.
This also allows more amo to be carried and easier reloading (hand finds hand).

The round is based on the G-11's 4.5x33mm caseless round for compactness, the Dardick tround (rounded triangular cross-section) to allow it to be loaded more conventionally, and the size of a round when an assault rifle and main battle rifle calibers are added and averaged.
As part of a family of weapons I wanted a round small enough to be loaded into the pistol grip but still be respectable enough be used as a battle weapon.

thats cool, I'm not sold on "caseless" yet. My main battle rifle that I designed uses a bullpup config with a 6x50mm long THV round with ballistics and speed comprable to the 5.56x45mm (in theory I havent yet built one and my dads .45 1911 sabot round is all I'll be able to build for a while) with power just under the level of the 7.62x39mm

Created from an idea I had years ago, got around to drawing it on the computer, just got around to posting it.

Nice conversion of pixels to millimeters. That's really smart, to be honest. Is that a real weapon as well, because I haven't heard of it.
