Description
Experimenting with Alien Planets. This is just the first and I have some ideas for how to make them look a little more like the original series. I welcome suggestions.Related content

I actually didn't paint them white! It is a light grey/silver! I was under the impression that they were silver when I was a kid and I can't quite disabuse myself of the notion. But now, I know that they were grey. Greg Jein is a good source, but a better one is Gary Kerr.

Gary has had access to the 11 foot model at least twice in his life. The first time he took copious measurements. I think he had a second time where he took MORE measurements and a lot of photographs. The latest access was during the Smithsonian restoration. They restored the 11 foot model to as close as they could to the final set of alterations for The Trouble With Tribbles. That was the last time the model was altered and filmed. That's right ... the third season EXCLUSIVELY reused Enterprise effects shots from the previous two seasons and the two pilots. Cost cutting maneuver. Go figure.

Oh, I've seen these.
I used Charles Casimiro's blueprints. I tried to make mine screen-accurate to the original physical model, hence the non-symmetrical window layout on the saucer.
But your planets and screencap effects... superb, man, pure superb!
