This will sound crazy, but I think it is great that you put people in the background!  So few people do that (I myself generally don't )  Nice detail, that makes it all work!

I agree, it definitely adds to the scene.  

I did check out that gallery.... Great scenes, and the multiple characters definitely help tell the story.
