A print ad I have created for the Roland Jupiter-8 analog synthesizer. One of the greatest analog synths of all time, this expressive and versatile instrument has been used by such artists/acts/composers as Alphaville, A-ha, ABBA, Tony Banks, The Cars, Devo, Dire Straits, Thomas Dolby, Duran Duran (who used it heavily on their debut album Rio), Enya, Goblin (who used it on their soundtrack to Dario Argento's Tenebrae), Harald Faltermeyer (who used it heavily on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack), The Human League, Michael Jackson, Jean-Michel Jarre, Howard Jones, Journey (the synth can be seen in their music video for "Separate Ways"), Lady Gaga, Lime, filmmaker/composer Dick Maas (who scored his film De Lift entirely on this and a Juno-6), Giorgio Moroder (particularly on the Scarface soundtrack), Mr. Mister, OMD, The Prodigy, Queen, Rush, Tangerine Dream, and Tears for Fears.
I got the idea from a fake magazine ad that appeared in the ST:TOS episode "Bread and Circuses" for a car called, coincidentally, the Jupiter-8 , thirteen years before the synth first hit stores.
