Description
A collage based on another one of my favourite sci-fi films, this time 2010: The Year We Make Contact, the sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey (also a favourite of mine). The film was released in 1984 and directed by Peter Hyams, and stars Roy Scheider, John Lithgow, Helen Mirren, Bob Balaban, Keir Dullea (reprising his role from 2001), Douglas Rain (again reprising his role), and several Russian actors playing the Leonov crew members. While the film is much more conventional than its predecessor and not quite as notable, it is still has considerable merit, featuring good performances from its experienced cast, excellent visual effects work, and a beautiful score composed by David Shire (who also did The Conversation, The Taking of Pelham 123, and the incidental music to Saturday Night Fever).

It is perhaps worth pointing out that this is actually the second version of my collage. The original had the title placed too low, leaving very little space for the bottom screenshot, so I decided to redo the image and place the title closer to the centrepiece.
