Description
As tensions increase in the eastern Pacific, with North Korean, Chinese, and Russian saber-rattling, the Dysynni-class light carrier is the Londthyrian Confederacy Navy’s solution to increasing anti-submarine warfare, convoy escort, and humanitarian relief within the Navy, without adding larger fleet carrier hulls, and their subsequent cost in both material, manpower, and national treasure. In an anti-submarine loadout, the class carries two squadrons of S-3D/ES-3C Viking aircraft, a squadron of LAMPS III-compatible SH-149B Cormorant helicopters, and a self-defensive detachment of 4-6 F-35B Lightning II fighters. A convoy escort loadout replaces one Viking squadron with a full squadron of Lightning IIs, while maintaining the squadron of Cormorants to prosecute sonar contacts alongside the LAMPS IIII MH-90A Sea Tigers of the Flight III/3 Arleigh Burke-class and Daring-class guided missile destroyers, and Baden-Württemberg-class frigates.
Six ships are currently in service, all named after earlier Essex and Audacious-class aircraft carriers.
