What do you when you're hanging out in your forest and you see a horde of redcaps come by and slaughter everything in their path, but you're a dryad bound to your tree and if you get too far away from it you go insane and die? Well obviously you uproot that tree with your bear hands and use it to bludgeon the little mushroom blighters to death!

Cocoa was once the precedent of a perfect dryad. Vibrant colors, luxurious hair, good posture, vast lexicon, perfect teeth, she had it all! And being bound to a cocoa tree gave her a personality as sweet as chocolate. But after seeing her forest friends' blood spilled by the hand of redcaps, Cocoa threw all of that away to save her home. Dryad's usually can't do too much as they are bound by their trees which act as both their houses and their life source, but Cocoa found a loophole.

Sort of.

The dryad uprooted her own tree and keeps it close to her at all times, and by keeping it in once piece (albeit a very dry and mangled piece) her life was maintained. Sadly Cocoa's sanity wasn't. As she fought off the redcaps her mind slowly slipped. What started as a righteous beating became a lust for the blood of the wicked. Her colors dulled, her hair fell out, she walked on all fours, her words became simple, and her teeth got all sharp and jagged. Cocoa had become a feral shell of her former self.

The only thing that remained of the once perfect dryad were her sense of right, topped with a just as kind (if not a bit more eccentric) personality. Now Cocoa acts as a protector for the forest, mashing anything that threatens mother nature with extreme prejudice. Adventures often mistaken her for a goblin or a troll. They certainly didn't recognize her as a dryad. Cocoa is anything but shy, and she enjoys the death of redcaps to an unsettling degree.

"Cocoa not heartless. Cocoa love beating!"

Also if she gives you a cocoa bean (such as the ones in her hair) don't eat it. They explode.
