If you're trying to draw a realistic goat, I agree. If not, then it depends upon how stylized or anthropomorphized you are trying to make them. They're already being taken outside of their normal anatomy by making them anthropomorphic. Heck, Sonic doesn't look anything like a hedgehog other than his quills.

Tbh I don't have issues with either of these drawings. It just depends on how much you want to anthropormorphize the character, and how closely you wanna hold to real-life influences. Yagi is a trueΒ goatΒ goat, but some choose to add more human-like features than others. I think the second design is best for something like a Satyr, though, given the mixture of goat/sheep/human features!~

goats are along the same lines as horses and cows though, with long flat heads & eyes on either side. i think it'd be weird as fuck to see a horse drawn with a round human-like face & front facing eyes; so i think it's weird that people do that with goats.
