For the Library icons follow this Tutorial .

For the Favorites icon:
1. Open the registry editor(regedit)
2. Go to the following entry "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{323CA680-C24D-4099-B94D-446DD2D7249E}"
3. Here click on "Default Icon".
4. In the right side Double click on (Default).
5. Now enter the path of Your desired icon in the "Value data:"
Log off and Log on to apply.

you can chnage your icons in windows. just google for tutorials.

You have to use the .ico format to change the icons.
There is program called "Librarian" which lets you change the default library icons in windows.

Hehe happens to me as well. Sometimes I recolor a icon in Photoshop and end up realizing that I could have got the same result by adjusting the Hue-Sat properties in AveDesk.
