Since i like making stories for the cards that i work on here is something that came to my mind last night after this card arrived in the mail.

The pre metamorphic query

Alice thought for a moment... “if “ she began very politely “I am truly mad and this place and everyone in it is sane...” “Yes,” the caterpillar said as he continued draw on his massive hookah pipe (the one that was as large as Alice herself (who was not a pipe but a girl who did not smoke) “then” Alice continued “everyone I’ve met so far has been acting otherwise just to make me feel at home”

“And are you at home Alice?” the caterpillar asked as smoke curled out of his left nostril in a mysterious way (mysterious in the fact that real caterpillars do not have them nor do they have noses in which to keep them.

“ I don’t think so” Alice said truthfully “we seldom have caterpillars as large as you in our garden and I’ve never seen even the smaller ones smoking anything as expensive as your pipe. “

The Caterpillar nodded; “Perhaps you’re only looking for madness here” the caterpillar said. “Or maybe you’ve already found it and don’t quite know what to do with it. ”

“maybe I should go and talk to someone else now” Alice said backing away ever so slightly. (as she should have done five minutes ago) The caterpillar shrugged (tricky thing to do without shoulders or internal skeleton to support them)

“No one can stop you from doing that apart from the Red Queen, and I’m far too busy to pay any attention to what direction you go
but I’d stay away from that direction (it should be noted that he did not point anywhere despite having several arms and hands that were not occupied with anything that could have done so if he had really wanted to do so) the other direction is just as bad (he still had not pointed in either direction) but the Mad Hatter usually has tea about this hour so you are welcome to show up there and ask your questions...he might answer them, then again if you’re determined to avoid anyone whom you think is mad here you’ll have no one left to talk to but your self...and only mad people do that” Now run along and ask your questions...I have to go home and start growing my wings before supper time arrives” and with that the caterpillar slid off the giant shroom he had been sitting on and crawled away without saying goodbye which as we all know is terribly rude even for a caterpillar of any size to do) “I don’t quite know what to think of that conversation” Alice said to herself... “Was he being rudely helpful or helpful and then became cross when I kept asking questions?” “Oh, well” She sigh... “I would like some tea right about now...but which direction should i go? “

“That’s easy” she said to herself feeling pleased with her logic
“I’ll go precisely in the direction which is the opposite of where i want to avoid going.” and with that she started walking again and towards another adventure and tea.
