Description what forms of math do crows employ
in their daily calculations from tree to wire?
do the currents of air on which they ride
fold about their wings in exacting measure
or do they adjust for implausible chance?

are there books or bits of bark
that maintain such scratches
and are read by fledglings
whilst we look the other way?

should we gather that flight once learned
is not refined or
improved upon by those
that took to it, long before we ever did?

-technical section: you can freely ignore
this bit as it is not poetic, merely superfluous
details on what techniques were employed to
obtain this particular effect-

the paper was hand tinted, parchment
using destress inks (obviously an earth tone)
the background image is a partial illustration
from a clutch assembly found online and the
crow was found in a Highlights children's
magazine from the 60's (i think) ... i might
add more this later, or make it available
for a collaboration ...which is far more likely

thanks to -jennystokes- who pointed out
that the nature of the poem as first posted
(first stanza) was broken by the sudden
and awkwardly clunky inclusion of the technical
section. this has since been corrected and two
additional verses have been added.

thanks Jenny...many hugs

*grin* ok, i'll move that technical section down a bit further
and replace it with a few more verses that are more in the spirit
of the piece.

This image would be better if I couldn't tell that the foreground and background weren't seperated. I could tell at first glance when I zoomed in. And that's... Meh. It looks like the crow is a paper cut-out laying over it. But I really like the idea and the colors

Oh, and if you've got a moment, I would really appreciate if you could take a gander at my band, Father Mars. We're an up and coming band from Portland, Oregon and we play a very modern style funk/punk style. We just got our second demo EP up for listening and download. And you gotta support up-'n'-comer's, right?

Here's our Bandcamp page: [link]

And our Facebook page: [link]

Download, listen, like, whatever floats your boat

Thank you for your time <3

the crow is indeed a layer positioned in the foreground. it is not fully attached in the hopes of additional elements may find their way to this card. i tend to use hands on techniques for most of my work, but agree that if the images were more tightly blended together, the overall effect would be that much stronger. heard a clip from your site, liked what was there...will return when i have more time to give the songs a proper hearing

I didn't know it was still a work in progress I would've kept my mouth shut knowing that.

And thank you

no worries, what so ever *grin* i appreciate your honest opinion, and
if an artist can not deal with those who may not like everything they
might post or create, then they need to find something else to occupy
their time
