Description the full name of this card is: - Standing primly as the world falls apart- but that is just too long for the space provided...
this card has not been glued down in any way (so is likely to change) and was put together piece by piece on the scanner...card was destressed using sandpaper, (for the scratches) coffee and other dyes, and microwave techniques (which is why the card fell apart the way it did...it's REALLY fragile and hard to work with) The image of Alice is from the book Alice in Wonderland where she is talking to the rather famous cat that resides within that Realm who fades in and out of reality; (or is it that reality itself fades in and out around him and it is he the stays exactly the same?

I love the Alice and Wonderland addage. Keep up the awesome work cousin. By the way, why not try to add just a simple layer of color to the background and call it done. Frankly even if you didn't know it was Alice you would still think it goes along with your card called "Facing Reality".

thanks *Grin* how would you like to be the one to tweak this card into proper artistic clarity? I can send it to you in a few days by personal means (since there is an upcomming event that will be attended by a large number of family members...alas, i will not be one of them *sigh*) since this is in still in pieces you would be able to enhance the background as you suggested more easily... it would them be posted as a collaboration and demonstrating your exceptionally witty and artistic brilliance

Oh, Alice! Shouldn't she be standing in front of the Queen of Hearts?

yes, it was an idea i tried one evening that worked... never wrote down exactly what i did so every time i do this the result is very unpredictable... but it does help to keep the card wet while you are "toasting" it... about ten to fifteen seconds at a time is what i use...you can use more time but the card could catch on fire (like popcorn)and too much time will make the card brittle and it will fall apart when you pick it up...
i also destress the card with sand paper and coffee (or dye) or by carefully crumpling the card...the microwave technique will give you a scorched edge on one side which i happen to like...these cards are also larger than normal so that also effects how they react in the microwave. hope this helps *grin*
