the transition from forest to mangrove swamp is a gradual thing but once there is no mistaken where you are or where you are not standing although the blood sucking insects are content regardless of the local environment ...the local residence are more instinct than rational intelligence so interacting with them is considered very risky (some might prefer the term insane) but if the right talismans and protections are used beforehand passage is usually safe but lingering after dark...not so much
