This reminds me of a race of creatures that might be in "The Edge Chronicles"- I got a lot of my taste for grotesque creature art from reading those books!! Love the candle hat.

hm- "Pech" is a German word and means "bad luck " or "pitch" ... probably more the pitch-black thingy
