Description
Wasting time at work with the Golden Age Blue Beetle and the Green Ghost. The Dan Garrett Beetle had some pretty cool duds. And his radio show wasn't bad, either.Blue Beetle © DC Comics

So great! I love the golden age blue beetle! Your style is just perfect for this.
It would be awesome to see your take on the captain atom of that era too

Maybe I will. The original American mystery men were a cool breed. Lots of great costumes and crazy stories.

And most of them are in public domain, so you can use them all you want.

Be sure you check it out first. Alex Ross is doing that with Superpowers and Image is publishing Fantastic Comics again using a bunch of public domain Golden Age heroes.

Wow. I don't understand why you needed some help with the inking. Seems to me you've pretty much got it down pat!

This is just Microns and a Pitt. I really want to learn how to use the brush and nibs properly.

Ach!! Not nibs....
Well, some people, like Alex Raymond and maybe Dave Stevens can really weild a nib. I myself, have had numerously bad encounters with them. I always end up scratching the board, or the ink splotches, or the ink runs out in mid line, (the most frustrating!)
I say give them a whirl. You may actually be one of those talented people that can use one!!

Very Hot!!! Great version of the Blue Beetle.
I'm a fan of both Dan Garret and Ditko's Ted Kord.
haven't heard of the savage spectre - which company did he come from?

That Blue Beetle get-up is dynamite. The Savage Spectre is the ass kicker formerly known as the Green Ghost. Turns out the Green Ghost was an actual pulp character from back in the day. Oops.

Thanks - yeah I've heard of the Green Ghost.
These drawings have really stirred my interest - I'm heading off to reread some Blue Beetle!
cheers
