Description It was so windy where I lay in the bluebonnets. The air swirled and danced through the flowers. And scents seemed to fly from the tip of my nose directly into my soul. My eyes fell half shut as I lifted my face into the heady breeze and dreamed.

Thanks. I love the shot, but have fallen out of love with the frame. It's enclosing, rather than expanding.

Do the colors look alright? And the brightness? I'm going to put it in the Against the Light contest ( [link] ), just for fun.

I like that shot, too, and I don't think it's too bright. I'm not too into frames these days, because they tend to make pictures look a bit confined, proscribed. When I do make one, it's too ornate or overbearing, and robs from the picture itself.

If I were you, I'd enter the contest! Why not? It's certainly about light!

Hey, Jean -- When you are feeling better, I wonder if you'd mind popping over to look at [link] in my scraps. It needed a bit of touch-up, I think. But did I improve it? What do you think?

I'm so happy you like it. The dog is my beloved Teaka, who is actually quite shy. Usually she worries and pants heavily when I try to capture her. This time I put her on a down stay in the field and sat quietly several yards away for 20 minutes. She finally relaxed and started to enjoy the scents coming in on the wind. I'm so grateful to have captured this moment of her relaxing and being outside of herself.

The flowers are bluebonnets, a type of lupin that puts on a gorgeous show in the Spring in Central Texas.

I'll put up a few more this weekend. I have some nifty "blooper" shots, too.

This is wonderful! I like the way the flowers fade off into the background. Great shot!
(and she's very pretty too!)

Thanks! I'm so glad you like the focus. I'm still experimenting with dof.

The dog is my beloved Teaka, relaxing in the flowers. She is a pretty girl, isn't she.

Wow! I just put this one up. You're quick!! I like the lighting, too -- was so lucky to have a day of sun between thunderstorms. It was almost too bright. I put her on a down stay in the flowers and sat quietly taking pictures while she drank in the wind. Later I'll post a few where I said key words to her that made her look at the camera expressively. But I like this one a lot because it's un-posed, so I put it up first.
