(Young Charlie discovers that a portrait artist lived in Blackthorn Manor during the 1920s and 30s. There were rumours the artist had been dabbling in the occult. Despite his artistic talents, he was a greedy and selfish man. It was said that one night he conjured a demon from the underworld and sold his soul in exchange for making his artwork hugely successful. He wanted to be as rich and famous as artists such as Pablo Picasso, Henry Matisse and Georgia O’Keefe. But there was one condition. The demon demanded that the soul of every person the artist painted should be trapped inside their paintings forever.)
