This is so awesome. Soundwave's my favourite Decepticon and I'm just about to start on making my own costume of him! Doubt it'll be as kick-ass as this though!

This took over 6 months on Sundays and over 300.00 dollars to make, so I don't think you could get it by Halloween.. Even with how late I'm getting this reply it would have been next to impossible. But if you want the how to for next year?

I'm making one currently, and I looked it up.
I'm using foamcore, funky foam sheets and lots and lots and lots of hot glue. (Low temp glue gun.)
Foamcore I got at Jo-Ann's Crafts for $2.99 for a biiig 20x30...board thing.
It's pretty cheap actually. Yeah. <3

Btw, funky foam is fucking awesome.
And if you use foam for it, use a low-temp hot glue gun and lots and lots and lots and lots of glue sticks.
I've used about 10 or more just making Soundy's helmet.

I've been using some 1-inch sheet foam to make other masks, is that right? And you're soooo right, it takes a TON of hot glue to make this stuff!

I used like 20 by now. Um, when I first got the idea and looked it up I saw people use foamcore, fiberglass (hazardous and really hard to do, you need special stuff to do it) or sheet plastic.
I suggest foamcore, it's durable, I punched my helmet a couple times and there isn't even a dent, and it sticks to hot glue really well.
