So cute and funny! I'm glad the fairy worked... it's really all their good for. I love the painterly style you have here. Really great linework with lovely shading and coloring, very soft but clear.

They really shouldn't be helping him. If they do, he might talk, and then they're REALLY in trouble...

I always thought it'd be interesting to see a battle between the good and evil variations of Zoras in a Zelda game (I was even kind of hoping that Hyrule Warriors might do something like that, but unfortunately they didn't), especially if it would give some sort of explanation behind WHY there are two different types that are still both regarded as "Zoras" when they clearly don't even share much of a resemblance at all. One is a fire-breathing, aquatic dinosaur-thing, and the other is a bioelectric, piscine humanoid; how are they even related?

Of course, I do know that the real reason for the two designs is just because it was a spur-of-the-moment decision that was made in the middle of development of Ocarina of Time; the humanoid Zoras were initially intended to be just a reinterpretation of the original ones, and were even planned to look just like them in early development of the game, but were later redesigned to look more humanoid (most likely so that Ruto could be paired with Link without it being bestiality) and ended up creating the separation of the species that we see today. But it still would have made more sense in my mind if Nintendo would have just named the humanoid Zoras differently and regarded them as a new tribe instead of as a reinterpretation of an old one.

There was an enemy in Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks called the "Geozard" that looked almost identical to the evil Zora, but suitably (and ironically) more piscine-looking rather than reptilian, and it's behavior and abilities were the same, yet it was never mentioned at all to be related to the Zora despite the resemblance. It baffles me how an almost completely identical creature would be created by Nintendo and never implied to be even related to an already-existing one just like it, yet when they introduced the humanoid Zoras like Ruto, who are nothing like the original Zoras, they still gave them the same name and regarded them as merely a reinterpretation of this existing species even though they barely have anything in common.

Anyhow, Nintendo-logic aside; awesome comic! Made me chuckle!

Of all the redesigns in the series, Zoras just stand out. Even moreso than Moblins. Enough so that the Oracle games actually divided them into separate species, even though the original intent for the Ocarina zoras was just a redesign and giving there behavior to octoroks. And its not just in the "downfall" timeline either; they are in Four Swords Adventures ("child" timline) and in Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks buff, sword-carrying versions appear. Personally, I'd like to see the "river" zoras in a 3d game. (I'm not counting the DS or 3DS games, as they played 2d.) Maybe they'll bring some of the old enemies back for Zelder Scrolls: WejustcrappeduponourtriedandtrueformulatogiveyouXenobladewithunrecognizeableLink?

Regarding the art: I like how you made Medli look "realistic." I also like the shading style. It looks soft and shiny. :3

Pfft... hahahaha, so true! It's so funny to go back and play the older Zelda and realize that the Zoras were evil pointy toothed fishy things.

This both in-depth and very well drawn, and a cute way to show the interaction between the characters. Fantastic work!
