Oh, but isn't it wonderful?
Those rain gods went and forgot us for ten years, it's about time they start ending the 33 degree days with rain or hail or thunderstorms instead of ignoring us until mid Autumn and then Spring, and leaving us with thirty-three degree days turning into thirty-three degree nights turning into thrity-five degree days.

I really like the background colour transition. Sort of sunset-y colours...
The transition between the frame images is also nice. Also, fairly accurate.

I am very glad my sensemaking efforts have not been in vain! Hearing this encourages me so, and I shall certainly make future ventures into this world again o7

ahhh quite embarrassing, but again I'm glad it was appreciated nevertheless! And despite any possibly-creepy undertones I might've sent h-haha. but hello Kite! I would introduce myself as scrii but I suppose my username already beat me to it so I am also anneliese :') also I apologise if this is a late reply, I just flew overseas and am a little disoriented ahaha (..I hope this HTML works too, it feels all wrong typing code with a phone)

I absolutely ADORE what you've done with the colors here, so minimalist yet conveys the feeling of temperature change perfectly!

But I don't think I'd ever be able to live in Aussieland. Anything over 25 degrees in the summer absolutely KILLS my family and I. Must be our Northern-European blood. D: Last summer was the second year in a row that occasionally reached the 30's, so we scrapped any road trip plans and just lazed at home. I did not even once go to the beach. 19-23C is the perfect temperature (and thanks to central heating it's 20 degrees inside right now, hellz yea).

scrii In reply to ahillamon [2012-01-11 14:41:44 +0000 UTC]

ah thank you so much!! despite my efforts i kinda felt like my brain was in autopilot just-make-it-pretty mode so i'm really happy to hear the colours work

i do cope slightly better with cold than heat but i'm not sure if i could last through an entire european/north american winter haha;; 24-29 is my ideal temperature range! (our thermostat is usually set to ~20 in winter.) i did hear that the summers up there have been pretty unbearable though oh man i hope you get to fulfil your roadtrip plans next summer? also jealous of your 20-degree house, i think 1:40am sounds like a decent time to run and cocoon myself in bed asdfj

ahillamon In reply to scrii [2012-01-11 15:56:04 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I'm not much of a cold person myself either. Snow is really pretty for a couple of weeks, but by the time it clogs the streets and sidewalks, turns to disgusting dirty slush on warmer days and then freezes into invisible black ice at night I've had just about enough of winter.

And then when spring finally swings around, all the accumulated dog poop suddenly reappears and liquefies in puddles and on sidewalks. DDDDDD:

scrii In reply to ahillamon [2012-01-12 07:35:41 +0000 UTC]

nooo don't remind me, let me live in my snow-is-always-white-and-fluffy-and-magically-disappears-in-spring fantasy!! we get black ice in the colder parts of victoria too (..obviously) and it does just ruin everything, haha. still, just one day of snowfall in melbourne would satisfy everyone i think!
can't say i'd thought of the dog poop problem though asdfjlkj ohh man what a nightmare;;

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

ahillamon In reply to scrii [2012-01-12 10:21:08 +0000 UTC]

Muahaha, I shall destroy all your snow-is-pretty-and-awesome fantasies! Because that dog poop I mentioned earlier? For most of the winter it sits atop the snow, especially around the sidewalks, which are already drenched yellow from you-know-what.

You hear that sound? It is your previous opinion of winter breaking.

Though I guess a day or two of snow would be great to have, all the whiteness with none of the hassle*.

*except all the drivers wailing "But we weren't prepared!" D:

ahaha nah i've already heard the majority of snow horrors (or at least the major ones), i just like to pretend that i haven't.
and that's another thing, we certainly don't have many cars equipped with snow-appropriate tires.. hmm, sounds like the whole city would just have to shut down then :o

Hahaha, I do stuff like this ALL they time .

Funnily enough, here in Canada, we have had virtually NO snow, and ice.
There's also been a few days that have been 7 degrees....IN JANUARY!
Ya, not sure what's going on with the world.... XP

ahillamon In reply to Cappies [2012-01-11 14:27:50 +0000 UTC]

Haha, mostly same here in Estonia. We had up to 8 degrees during Christmas, which for a country that usually has 4-5 months of winter is very weird.

Cappies In reply to ahillamon [2012-01-11 14:33:10 +0000 UTC]

Ya, my friend in Finland is totally dumbfounded at the lack of snow and general freezing-ness they usually get. He was pretty depressed that Christmas there was basically a green one >.<
Well, global warming I suppose :/

ahillamon In reply to Cappies [2012-01-11 15:47:48 +0000 UTC]

We call Christmas without snow black Christmas, which makes the whole holiday sound even more depressing. But yeah, we got our first real snow on New Year's Eve, so over a month later than usual. Hopefully that doesn't make the spring come later as well.

ohh my gosh really, another melburnian!! i swear 99% of australians on dA are from anywhere but here haha come on guys we're meant to be the cultural capital.. though i commend you on not adding icecream haha it's not quite the most effective way of warming up

man i know right ahh i feel like a wuss for complaining about 14 but i'd just acclimatised to the 30+ degrees so it's 100x worse sadfj at least it's warming up on sunday??

I had no idea you lived here I swear hahah. I'm normally just happy to find an aussie, but sharing a city is 10x as more awesome!
It's fine to complain when the weather raises our hopes by throwing 40 degrees our way then drops over 20 degrees in 5 days! D: I was just beginning to adapt and enjoy that hot weather only to be heart broken. I hope it warms sunday, I'm going to a friend's birthday and I wouldn't want it to be cold and icky! ;_; I want warmth~

(and now I got to bed, but haha so awesome! such a small world)

haha i have to admit 40 was a bit too much for me, though i had a friend's birthday that night and it was so good to just chill outside with it still being around 25 at midnight! but yeahh the weather next week certainly looks to be a bit more summer-appropriate so i'm glad i'll get a bit of sunshine before i leave yay
i hope the birthday this sunday is awesome & that the weather holds up for it!
