edit; SERBIA NOOOO ;; i was hoping for them to do really well, this week has just been a wave of disappointment for me but a big congrats to Germany!! such a cute song <3 balkan balkan balkan.. ovo je balkan...--
this is probably the most unfinished thing I've submitted in a while!! just some colour-picking practice o/ and I have no real idea what inebriated people are like, so apologies
so I don't know how finns and estonians feel about the Eurovision results but I WAS SO BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED
especially after waking up at 5am to watch the stream live and my favourite two (totally not biased towards finland) in the entire contest not getting through orz"
(AND I ADDED LITHUANIA TOO AFTER THIS MORNING BECAUSE.. WHAT ;; )
buut I did also like Greece, Serbia (ahaha Milan Stankovic is so adorable and australia claimed him as our own since he has an aunt here), Romania, Turkey and a bunch of others I can't remember at the moment (some others I liked eg. Switzerland & Sweden didn't get in) so best of luck to them in the finals on saturday/sunday!!
also "Our Sound" Asia-Pacific Song Contest in November yeahhh let's see how this goes \o/

There was a good song in the contest of "Eesti Laul" where they chose what goes to the Eurovision and out of all the songs they had to pick Malcolm Lincoln's one... I'm not saying it's too bad, but... no... just.. no to that.
Anywho, Finland wasn't too bad and Lithuania's was awesome.

aw man that reminds me I was meant to look up the other entrants to Eesti Laul... i'm sorry to hear that though, hopefully next year the entry will be good huh? i don't think Eurovision will stop any time soon so there's plenty of opportunity! o/

i'm not sure about elsewhere (i've heard it's not big in north america) but in australia it's pretty huge for some reason!! probably because a huge proportion of the population have european ancestry? or otherwise we just appreciate europeans and their entertainment haha

I had similar favourites artists on this year ESC. Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Serbia, Greece, Romania..
But Romania got high place!

i loved malcolm lincoln too, he's so quirky haha ;; i am happy about romania placing high up there and that serbia got through to the finals, but i wish serbia placed higher. there's always next year, i guess!

oh I'm sorry - Lithuania from Hetalia, yes? I don't know this anime well, I've heard about this, but never watched it. 
yes, Malcolm Lincoln is quirky but it's good music. I was amazed when I've heard their another songs... so different than on ESC!
Yes, Romania's song was great and the show with the double-piano was original.
yes I wish Serbia placed higher too, but I think Milan will come back;D

i liked malcolm lincoln's other songs too, and yeah, very different to Siren but really catchy and great :D and i hope milan releases a new album soon ahh Solo is so good

i think the Australian auditions for Our Sound are going on now, actually! i'm not entirely sure what's going on, it hasn't really been publicised here but i'm excited for it nevertheless :O

really! that's surprising, i didn't think our strange obsession with europe would be known over there! although i guess a lot of people here have european heritage, so it makes sense
and yes, we did choose maNga! it was a tight race between turkey and greece on the online polls (although it's hard to tell, since each person could vote once every 20 seconds)

I really liked all those songs ! YES I REALLY LIKED FINLANDS ENTRY :___D Seems not quite many finns like it, cause kuunkuiskaajat would make more powerful song and yet entry was so simply. But it makes me happy when I listen it!

Well, if you have heard any VÀrttinÀ's song? Kuunkuiskaajat are the singers from VÀrttinÀ (there were/are more singers in it) and they made very dramatic music and when I heard that some of the singers have made new "band" and are perfoming for eurovision I was like "YES now we gonna hear something AWESOME!". Then I heard Tyâlki ellÀÀ and I was like buhuu :---( But it still very happy song and makes me smile :---)

i'm highly amused because another finn on a different site just recommended VΓ€rttinΓ€ to me at the exact same time (to the minute!) that you posted this comment and i wasn't talking about eurovision or kuunkuiskaajat with them haha oh man
but listening to some of VΓ€rttinΓ€'s stuff, i can now see where that opinion comes from - it would've been super cool to have had a song like those in eurovision! maybe they were trying to please the rest of europe which unfortunately toned it down a bit?
i know quite a few people who liked Tyâlki ellÀÀ though and it was much, much better than other certain songs (ahem) this year <3 they were really close the finals though, i'm sure you'll be set for germany 2011

I have to admit I was a little disappointed. D: For once our entry was in Finnish and using actual Finnish folk music style. I don't mind not winning but I would have hoped it would have scored higher. Now I'm afraid there's no chance we'll have another song in Finnish for the next twenty years because everybody will be all "okay nobody wants to hear Finnish songs then, let's keep them in English". orz;;
Estonia's entry was cool~ but I was disappointed it was in English. =3= Eurovision needs more languages. I absolutely loved Estonia's last year's entry! It should have wooooonnn~~ (well okay, Norway's song was nice enough so I don't mind. But still, Estonia's song should have won.)
Well, not that I care all that much. Nor do a lot of Finns either, I think. It's a lulzy contest but kind of cute in that it brings all Europeans together once a year.
Oh! And I went to Estonia in the spring and I heard they were still playing last year's song in the radio.

the language and the style were what made me fall in love with it, i don't know why it didn't score higher? but apparently you guys were really REALLY close to making the finals so i'll bet my bottom dollar that you'll get in there next year!! i sure hope the future songs are in Finnish though (songs in other languages earn points from me because otherwise it's just like a generic pop song contest), do the citizens get a say in which entries are sent..?
i would've liked Estonia's even better if it was in Estonian too but i agree! despite Rybak's slightly creepy smile and his fabulous violin-playing and singing, ESTONIA'S SONG LAST YEAR WAS AMAZING good golly <33 it's awesome that they still play it there, i'm glad it got so much exposure ;3; and i'm a huge sucker for events that bring people together (and eurovision is really popular in australia for some reason) so i love it heaps, it is indeed very cute ;;
