edit; SERBIA NOOOO ;; i was hoping for them to do really well, this week has just been a wave of disappointment for me but a big congrats to Germany!! such a cute song <3 balkan balkan balkan.. ovo je balkan...--
this is probably the most unfinished thing I've submitted in a while!! just some colour-picking practice o/ and I have no real idea what inebriated people are like, so apologies
so I don't know how finns and estonians feel about the Eurovision results but I WAS SO BITTERLY DISAPPOINTED
especially after waking up at 5am to watch the stream live and my favourite two (totally not biased towards finland) in the entire contest not getting through orz"
(AND I ADDED LITHUANIA TOO AFTER THIS MORNING BECAUSE.. WHAT ;; )
buut I did also like Greece, Serbia (ahaha Milan Stankovic is so adorable and australia claimed him as our own since he has an aunt here), Romania, Turkey and a bunch of others I can't remember at the moment (some others I liked eg. Switzerland & Sweden didn't get in) so best of luck to them in the finals on saturday/sunday!!
also "Our Sound" Asia-Pacific Song Contest in November yeahhh let's see how this goes \o/

As a Finn I'm really surprised to see people actually liking our Eurovision entry 
But now about the picture. I really love your shadings! And the colors are so gray(ish? ;D) but it makes this picture kinda soft I think. Yes I can't explain at all what I'm thinking xP But anyways, I love this <3

aw I love the finnish language so I might be bit biased (and entries not in English tend to appeal to me more) but I really loved the tune and how happy the song was <3 and haha that seems to be the general sentiment of Finns!

yeahh silly, entertaining songs are something I look for in Eurovision. Actually songs like Germany's and Belgiunm are some that I wouldn't mind hearing on the radio but... you know.
I LOVED SERBIA'S but to tell you the truth I never really expect songs that have something to do with a certain nationality/group to do all that well? Regardless of how delightful the song might be.

yeah!! I love the quirky and eccentric entries the most, where the entrants look like they're just out there to have a great time and not worrying about votes or winning or anything
and this is very true, though I think Milan said it was about kisses or something rather than the actual Balkans? (then again I don't know how many Europeans understand Serbian or closely-related languages so.. haha) I thought this might've been the case for Lithuania's too, although maybe it's just the voting blocks coming into play again there.

I was more surprised that Lithuania didn't get to the finals than Finland or Estonia, but yeah! I'm really happy I got to hear them at least (and have them in my playlist haha) and there are always gonna be people that miss out I guess

Saaa saa, I saw it on the meme this morning and almost screamed with happiness. It's exactly how I've pictured them - getting smashed and sulking about it together. I didn't expect to find a fanart like this -- seeing it made me just so happy.
I was hoping the Finnish and Estonian entries would do well, so I was disappointed too, sob.
(From what people have told me, Finns don't care much because they're used to doing badly in Eurovision, so it's just like, "Oh, we sucked again? Well, at least Sweden didn't get in either" kind of thing)

As an Estonian I can say that we're a bit disappointed here, but not too much. I guess it might come from the fact that getting to the Eurovision finals wasn't such a huge goal for us this year. We're slowly getting over the hype and glitz around the whole contest and realizing the inevitability of the Balkan "circlejerk" voting scheme. One would need an amazing song to actually survive that, let alone win the finals (like we did once back in 2000 
Also, we de-emphasized Eurovision a bit by having a special (albeit thinly veiled) contest called "Eesti Laul" ("Estonian Song") instead of the usual national competition for our Eurovision song. The winner was still chosen to represent us in Europe, but since it didn't have "Eurovision" in it's title there was also a wider (and better) selection of songs and genres competing instead of all generic pop-dribble.
So yeah, not too big surprise we didn't advance to finals here either and Malcolm Lincoln's song wasn't really my cuppa tea anyway.

I loved the Estonian entry last year too and I recall you guys did pretty well in the end? the whole voting block thing is rather unfortunate, though there isn't really an easy way to even it out since you can't exactly tell people not to vote (or for certain countries), huh? but congrats for the 2000 win :D
I did see stuff about Eesti Laul while looking for Malcolm Lincoln's songs, maybe I'll look up the other entries because it sounds really great
and of course there's always next year!! \o/

Yeah, I loved our last year's entry too because it was so different from the identical lovey-dovey "Baby I love you, our hearts belong togeeether..." pop numbers.
I would strongly advise you to check out the other Eesti Laul entries, cause it was designed to introduce new talented artists and maybe help them get some recognition. Of course some of the songs are be in Estonian but I don't think that would hinder you too much.
Of course, next year is the year we shall take over the WORLD!

I would vote for those sorts of entries too, if only I could! and nooo of course not I love songs in other languages (probably even more than English ones actually) and I think my massive Finnish song library could do with a bit of balancing out haha so I'll definitely check them out!! thanks for the recommendation <3
