~God Damn~

No voice could reach him,
Whispers over static,
Distorted faces through snow,
Everywhere his feet touched, manifested ashes,

Truth delivered sweetly,
Wished he hadn't taken it so hard,
Where he stood at the edge of the universe,
Where everyone jumped, he was pushed,

The devil fancied the fallen for a pet,
Cut the feathers along his pale back, stripped him of his beauty,
Clipped his wings so he couldn't try to escape,
Kept him in a cage,

Laid down in the flames and raped,
He was forced to lower himself to begging,
Shadows sighed with gratification,
Forever burdened with the scars of defeat and singed wings burned to the flesh,

Voices over waves of cacophony reached his ears,
Whispers of angels and saints gave their word that salvation awaited him,
Lest he admit his existence was a mistake,
Distorted faces behind the flashing lights of blaring pain behind his eyelids,

Damned if he did, damned if he didn't,
An abomination with his head held high,
In his taste of hell, he suffered sweetly,
Rather than run into the arms of THE ONE who denied him.
