Description ~The First Impression~

She could define love.

I could see only her even through a lively crowd at a busy night club.

My mind would go back to her even though it was full of snapshots of faces with too much make-up and the inside looked like a Las Vegas brothel.

My first impression was that she probably had libraries in her head, with eyes that hadn't seen the world yet but surely had read about it, and memories wall to wall that made her presence a beautiful place to be.

I was always the kind of person that didn't mind stares.

When I caught a glimpse of her I kept looking back and wondering what I could offer to get her to speak to me and I wanted to lose myself in her response.

I was taken aback when she caught me looking because I had convinced myself that look she gave me meant:

Save yourself the trouble.

My mind would go back to her as we tried to move on with our lives but couldn't.

She told me her first impression of me was that I hid my heart in my back pocket before I opened my mouth.

I was afraid I would scare her away if I couldn't find something clever to say.

What does beauty want but to be pursued?

It was a lasting impression.
