You did a good job on the graphics and all, but the placement of the places are off. A lot.

Very impressed; I like the colour scheme on this one much better than version three, it's stunningly beautiful.

Thank you. Even I like the deep blue here and the distinct old-world feel. But version three is more updated according to official releases

If I had a chance to go to one of these lands, I would definitely pick Essos.

Having a world less civilised and tamed than the European-style kingdoms of Westeros just feels more like a real fantasy to me.

Plus it would be nice to get away from all that "cloak and dagger" stuff Westeros is famous for.

Actually the people in the land of Essos of more civilized and more technologically advanced than those in westeros because most of the cities have been greatly influenced by the Valyrians whose advacement was well beyond any civilization before the DOOM...

Great map! I always thought the Red Waste was closer to Lhazar, though....

You're probably right. The Red Waste is also probably more to the east of the Dothraki Sea than so South-East. But once I started making the map I decided to take some liberties of my own. Just until the 7th book though, I hope Martin releases the full map with that, assuming it is the last book.

looking at this I have no idea how the Ironborn think they have a chance at conquering westeros, great work

The secret is naval supremacy...if only the Trident emptied onto the western coast, their supremacy would be a given...

Ah, I was hoping it was some special software I can download that's sole purpose is making maps like this...

There are various cartography software out there to specifically aid map making. But I didn't want to get on another learning curve, Photoshop works just fine...

This is wonderful! Well done. It'll definitely be helpful for we poor readers who can't seem to get a decent idea of the world's layout from the maps in the book, that's for certain.

This is ultra awesome = it's a bit frustrating flicking between the map pages in the books and trying to work out where everything else is in relation to Westeros, now thanks to you all our problems are solved! Have you considered doing a 'Character Journey' version of your map? For example: it would be great to see Daenerys' journey on the map = you could overlay it on your map and label the key events and place names, maybe even divide it up into different sections according to which book it's in. Just a suggestion, I think you've already earned the blessings of all Seven Gods of Westeros with this = it truly is a fantastic job!

I love you're idea! I'm itching to create ASOIAF related artworks these days. I'm working on creating the Houses' banners right now but after that I'm gonna work on the character journeys as you've suggested.

Excellent map! Will save this to use as reference in the future.

I draw A comic of Ice and Fire (fancomic):

www.gameofthronescomic.com

and to find my way around the ASOIAF-world has been difficult, 'cause there have been no final map like this (until now).
Thanks !!!

I feel like I should be printing this one out and hanging it on my wall.
This piece feels quite a bit more "accurate". I do like the creative liberties that were taken to plot out the parts of the land that weren't specified, and the textures of this one are obvious in representing what each region is supposed to be like; woods, swamps, etc.
I do like this one, and will probably come back to this map in particular when the Winds of Winter comes out.
