Description A little sketchy poster of various deleted Haunted Manson characters. A little presentation for those who don't know them, along with an explanation of my take on them::

THE HATBOX GHOST: Can he still be considered deleted now that he's back ? Weellll… Kind of a dilemma. But even if he has lost this status, he was for forty years THE deleted ghost of the Mansion. So I include him all the same. For what I make of him: I follow a general tendancy which is to have him a grumpy old ghost who is always bugging the Ghost Host saying: "I want to come back ! I want to come back ! May I come back ? Oh, and when do I come back ? I WANT TO COME BACK !". This is a very funny approach of ol'Hattie, if you ask me.

PURPLY SHROUD: By far not as well known as the Hatbox Ghost, Purply Shroud was Madame Leota's helper at the Séance Room, until 2001 — when he disappeared, as after the first Haunted Mansion Holidays the Imagineers kind of… forgot to put him back. A real shame. Unti this year, he had not had a lot of things about him on the Internet, but I recently wrote a fanfiction named "How the Haunted Mansion became an attraction", of which Purply is the narrator. I hope that, along with this drawing, it will contributes to build Purply's legend (as, now that Hattie's back, we need a new deleted ghost to ask for, don't we ?).

THE LONESOME GHOST: Unrelated to the Lonesome Ghosts of the Mickey/Donald/Goofy cartoon. In an old, never-seen-the-lighted version of the Haunted Mansion, the attraction was entirely a walk-through. And, to lead the guests in the huge, labyrinthian manor, there was a guide, the Lonesome Ghost, who was (apparently) to be played by a real living actor. A bit the grandfather of the Butlers and the Maids of the final attraction. At any rate, my version of the Lonesome Ghost is based on this concept art: s2.photobucket.com/user/danols…
In my headcanon, the Lonesome Ghost is extremely bitter because of his removal. He thinks that the Imagineers betrayed him when they gave the job to the Ghost Host instead of him, and he detests said Ghost Host for the same reason. What is interesting in his current incarnation is that he's half his original, forlorn and self-controlled self, and half raven mad and angry.

THE RAVEN AND THE CAT: Two considered narrator between the Lonesome Ghost and the Ghost Host, obviously taken from two E. A. Poe masterpieces. What is different from the Lonesome Ghost is that in one of the version, they existed along with the Ghost Host, meaning that even if they had not the role of narrator, which they could accept, they still could have been in the attraction. About them personally:
The raven was not born a raven. He is one of the 999 Happy Haunts who has taken over the body of an old, ill raven (remember, we're before Madame Leota, so the ghosts are still "having trouble getting through"). He wasn't satisfied with this fowl body and was trying to take the body of one of the guests. Quite a villain, actually. But he was ambiguous: the fact that he wanted a mortal's body was to be said by the Ghost Host, who isn't really a reliable source.  Also: dubbed by Eleanor Audley, who also played Maleficent, Lady Tremaine…
The One-Eyed Black Cat was another Poe-inspired figure. But he was PLAIN EVIL. Just look at the original concept art (on my drawing, he is a bit friendlier than he actually was-:  s2.photobucket.com/user/danols… . What else can you say than AAAAAAAAHH if you ever meet this cat ? And the Ghost Host, in that version, warned you about him : "I am you friendly ghost guide. I am going to take you to see all sorts of marvels: disembodied spirits from crypts and tombs all over the world ! All happy haunts… Except for that unnatural and dreadful one-eyed black cat ! Watch out for him… He's very… unnice… He detests mortals !… Especially happy mortals…". A very scary fellow. Perhaps too scary. And too weird, too. If he had been here, the whole ride would have been different; because part of the fun of the Graveyrad Jamboree is to discover that all these ghosts you thought were evil during the first part of the ride were actually just fun-loving happy haunts. While there… Well, you learn from the beginning that "all are nice but one". Not that this couldn't be good, but it would have needed a lot of care given to the Cat's character and mannerisms. Otherwise, bam, would have been a failure.
Now in my book, the two usually team together, the Cat using the Raven as his henchman. The two hide in a walled crypt behind the Mansion, waiting for an occasion of coming back. The Ghost Host and the Lonesome Ghost are the only ones to know about them.

Sooo here is the stuff. Hope you liked it and sorry for this insanely long description.
