I like the squared off edges.
I think you could put a clear border around the sides and bottom of windows too, (like in your start menu) and build up detail generally, but good so far

Your borders are nice. Orb? that ok... Shadow?? Yes , you can add it if you want to.. and don't listen to those "^&%%$" coz this theme are made by you Scruball and not by them. So what if they don't like it? as long you and other people who share the same view with you like it much.
