pencil and acrylics.i won $500 third prize for this character design in the axn-anime hero drawing contest, five years ago. they retained my entry which is sad. so, after missing my painting so much i decided to make a duplicate from a rough sketch that i kept and now i don't miss it anymore.
oh yeah, the actual priestess okuni started the kabuki theater in japan hundreds of years ago.

no...her wears are stylish...props....even if an artist cant draw he/she should atleast know how to make stylish uniforms for chars (my personal opinion)....you can draw....you captured both prowess and style in this pic

just acrylics. never did use oils in fact, i don't know how.

oils are great. but in my experience they're a pain in the ass. i mean you need to know a large assortment of products other than the oils themselves to fully manipulate them to making a strong and powerful peice.

Great work. I'm sorry about them keeping your original, but at least you had something to make a copy. She really reminds me of Mai Shirinui from King of Fighters. I see a lot of Mai in the facial details, and also the "gifted" chest and somewhat skimpy outfit, but hey.

Nice freezing finland(up in north. on the west side of russia).
Why I knew about the sword is that I own a keris dagger.
First I didn't know where it was from but then my parents told me that it was brought to finland in the 50's or 60's by someone they knew.
I started researching on the dagger and suddenly found the keris dagger on the net.
I was like: - 'that looks similar'.
Then after taking a closer look I found out that it was an Javanese(spelled right?) straight blade keris.
I asked my parents of someone who had been to Java and they said that the one who gave the dagger had been somewhere there as a hospital nurse in worldwar II.
Now when I look at the blade of the dagger, I must say that it had a bit too many acid baths so it might be about 100 years old (the wooden scabbard is in good shape tho).
