Just some little ideas that are supposed to tie in to my Alicorn Origin story. I'm bad at doing things in order. Discord is bound by the Elements of Harmony to restrain his magic in the ancient past when they were first forged in part by the Alicorn Queen (the Evening pony). In this version everyone has a past name influenced by Greek Mythology.
I still don't have enough solid ideas though, but I always had this pic floating around in my head.

Myself, I'm kinda given to the idea of something akin to the Tolkein-verse where the Alicorns are from another plane (the diary of the two sisters implies there are other alicorns) that have come down assume sovreignty of Equestria, because the beings below would destroy themselves if they didn't. Other beings such as Discord and Tirek come from this plane as well.
I've also seen some theories that believe Discord is actually Star Swirl, given to madness by trying to attain immense magical power.

It's not often you see Discord drawn in this younger-looking style. Β Usually if he is drawn young, it's baby Discord. Β I dunno, I guess that's what strikes me the most about this: it's young, but still adult, Discord, and I just don't see it enough.
