It looks like a rejected design from the 60's, any relation to any nonfiction designs?

I somewhat related it to the escort carriers of WW2, notably the Sangammon & Commencement Bay.. Make it an improvement over the 2 named ships by sporting a deck edge elevator amidships.

Ah I see, that's also what tipped me off by twenty years was the deck edge elevator. And also, looking back, are you sure a turbine of that size could get the ship anywhere in less than two weeks? I'd go with at least a twin prop, but then again if the hydraulic motor is present with enough horsepower a single prop could work. Depends on where you go with it

I was also thinking about giving the ship twin screws, but since escort carriers (during my research) were mostly built w/ just 1 screw & were meant to escort convoys, I though I'd give it just 1 since speed wasn't that necessary for their role.

Hm, yeah you're right. Another question would be, is your design equipped to be a refueling point for planes?

It is, but not as much as a fleet carrier due to its small size. Its like a light mobile patrol airport so to speak
