Description
posted this and for the hell of it I picked up a brush after 20 years and gave some inks a try. I love his dynamic linework and it's hard to retain that in ink without keeping REALLY loose. Quite a rush job on my part as there all kinds of mistakes and the feathering sucks donkey but gotta start somewhere... think I might try some more. Used a cheap ass Blick Masterstroke (hee hee) #2 brush. Check out his gallery immediately!Related content

I personally think it's a damn good start. Getting back into the groove is always tough but repetition will surely cure that quickly and I think you're on the right path bud! Thanks for practicing on one of my pieces Continue to kick Arse!

Thanks San! Iβm practicing a lot more and need to get out of the habit of trying to complete a piece within a 2 hour timeframe. This will help me think about what Iβm doing before I just attack the page blindly. Iβm going for cleanliness while keeping your fast action lines and midtones without getting too heavy handed. Right now I feel a few things are working but still sloppyβ¦ Plus I need to get some good Bristol to work onβ¦ inking on this printer paper is not good times.

That's some solid ink work you got there! Lines are nice and loose while the hatching looks great.
I seriously can't ink with a brush!Β

Thanks HNF! If you ever get the chance to find a good brush definitely give it a try... very satisfying to lay down some dynamic lines...

Looks great, dude. I know you're being critical of yourself, but as someone who doesn't deal with inks at all, I can't see any mistakes or donkey-sucking quality.
