I use SAI for my designs and it doesn't really have brushes like in Photoshop or Krita, so to create the texture I change the settings to "spread" and lower the density ^^ I'd recommend finding a splotchy-looking brush and then lowering the opacity to 50% or lower and layering the color to create the smoky effect

Maybe a design like him i could do better justice tho i was wondering if you are going to keep making beauties like that<3 cos a design inbetween this boy and that girl you put on hold yesterday would be ace
omg i was hoping you would say you use SAI lol im so glad cos i rarely use ps, but that trick is gold! I havent been able to buy some horses out there because of that smokey effect that i can never achieve!

SAI is AMAZING and I absolutely love it, BUT it can be such a pain for creating textures and stuff ;o; I don't want to hand paint every single individual pixel for smoky effects, and so that setting/trick is an absolute lifesaver

SAI is indeed amazing! I only use ps if i really really NEEED to have a texture that SAI brushes cant give me but that is all lol for the rest its my go to<3 But its indeed a lifesaver, thank you so much for sharing now i dont have to restrict myself when i see a smokey!
