Description
So although I never indicated as such when I commented on the pic, largely because I was of course all for the idea, I was always a little jealous that thought to crossover MLP with that famous train chase scene from Wallace and Gromit and the Wrong Trousers before I did.So I've done my own take on that same idea.
It also happens to be 's birthday today, so consider this a birthday present as well.
Though I did my version entirely digitally, it was actually great fun to still try and replicate 's distinct visual style through that medium still. It's not quite a perfect recapturing of said style, but it's close enough that I feel it's still readily clear I was trying to emulate it.
Drawn in ArtRage Studio, with the blur effects and additional touch up done in Photoshop.

Unfortunately no, but has a few others that at least reference it.

What wheels? Β Didn't even notice them over that wicked grin on Vinyl's face (not to mention 'Tavi's fright, lol) Β Β Β

Fantastic!
Amusingly, this is one that I keep on thinking about revisiting myself, but I always have an uneasy feeling about redrawing and posting what is theoretically the same thing.Β
Also, just as a little tip for the future, you're forced perspective is great (Far better than any of my attempts!) but the wheels let it down slightly. Next time, have a go at drawing vertical ovals, it'll totally complete the look

Yeah, the wheels were kinda bugging me too, and I know you know more about trains than I ever will, so I was thinking even as I was posting it that you were going to comment on that.
I did think to try making them more oval-shaped when I was working on the wheels because it wasn't looking quite right, but it struck me as counter-intuitive and I was worried I'd overexaggerate it if I tried. Shoulda done it regardless in retrospect though, but oh well. Lesson for next time.

I'm actually terrible at drawing wheels myself. Nine times out of ten there's either a giant puff of steam covering them, or it's at so sharp of an angle you can't see them
