Dib interferes and asks if they can keep her in their custody, and Gaz adds that perhaps it could prove good for Dib to have some sort of social interaction. After a surprisingly brief amount of consideration, Membrane accepts their proposal and returns to his work.

Ah! Okay. Yeah, artistic license on stylized artwork... we were considering the pointy hair before, but chose the more rounded look to fit better with Ayla's style. Still kept the pointy fingers, though.
