I told myself 2 years ago I'd never do one of these memes again... well, I just love expressions and broke. The previous ones were cute but very limited in background, bodies and basically everything. I decided to make them more lively and interesting, giving more body where I saw fit and backgrounds of all types of random. Thus what I intended to be a couple days' work turned into almost a week. ...That's how I roll, can't ever stand to make things easier on myself.

I found myself drawing dynamic hands, which is impressive to me since those are tough to get used to. I wasn't sure if I really learned to draw hands (since my homework was just to draw 20 and a few on our model) but it seems like they are becoming less intimidating to me, that includes foreshortening and perspective. I found these things just pop out when I least expect it and applaud myself for having learned something new.

I think it'd be awesome to see other people make their characters more expressive, since most are kinda mediocre. You know your character can do more faces than smile or frown 90% of the time. Though when drawing expressions I found some of them just didn't fit my character's face, so I had to erase and redo until I got the right fit. Everyone's smile is different, and so are fictional people. (Complex character design anyway)

You could copy me, but that doesn't help you get better. I provide the inspiration and hope to see others benefit with it in their OWN style and not mine. Like with a previous commission/collaboration I made, I was quite impressed with how they handled the coloring half and it was in their style. That's what I'd like to see. Aspiring artists need to exercise their potential and use others as guidance but not a crutch. Straight copying (identical aspects of the piece in comparison to another) mainly cause a threatening feel to the artist, because nobody wants their hard work taken for granted. Don't try to be me just be yourself and use my art as inspiration, but don't be a fool and make your work identical in more than one aspect. If you challenge me you're going to lose, you can't beat the original.
