I'm actually a really big fan of this style of ghost. The classic look and variations on the classic look, with the sheetlike shapes and jack-o-lantern faces. It's hardly "dumb".

Well, the lineart was probably a minute because I didn't really think about what I was doing (I don't know how to do this with important things

I've noticed that, too. I can make a big portrait drawing of a character pretty easily if it's just for fun, but as soon as someone's expecting it, my artbrain shuts down.
I think it may have something to do with the sense of urgency relacing relaxation.
