This is a picture of my mare that I drew in '03. She looked just like this in the fall of that year, even down to the shoes. She's an amazing girl and I love her like she's my daughter. She's 17 this year and in foal to Polish stallion for next year. She herself is 93% Straight Egyptian. And yes, I draw on huge paper so it won't all fit. lol ^_^

I used colored pencil and gel pens for her eyes and the detail on her shoes.

Awe, well thank you. This is what she looks like scontent-a-pao.xx.fbcdn.net/hp… I wish I still had the means to see her. Through complicated leasing circumstances that really aren't honorable, I lost the means to see her, and probably won't ever see her again because I don't even know her exact location. Best horse, and friend for adventure I ever had. I miss her a lot.

^_^ I had fun doing this but thought I had ruined after I had gotten it completely colored: She was cross-firing and I wasn't sure how I was going to change it with layers and layers of colored pencil. But because I'm patient I was able to erase enough layers that I fixed it. YAY!

Some horses have freakishly long legs but Scheherazade eh...not like this picture. lol Got a bit carried away. Mostly it's just my signature I think of romancing and making fanciful the image of the Arabian. => The tummy line may not be exact but in '03 when she was running like this (even down to the shoes) she was TRIM. @_@

Scheherazade is weird: She can look like an Arabian, a Quarter Horse or a Thoroughbred depending (even been mistaken for Appy). lol While in shape as I have her drawn here, she was really looking like a Thoroughbred; VERY trim. I just can't get things acurate as I think it might be my style.

She's the funniest girl. ^_^ Though her neck looks stiff, yes; that too is Scheherazade. lol She's not real animated with it, more just plods it along like der-de-der. => Maybe if I pick up again with the horses, I can do better with the realism. I need more confidence.

Thanks for pointing out of stuff along the way; it's helped me realize my style and what I'm ACTUALLY trying to go for.

hahhaah, thats cool. I love the way thoroughbreds look tho, long and lean. I find that very pretty, though personally I also like the shape of an arabian horses body.

Yay! I haz a boost!

I've learned after being picky about breeding for so many years (breeder and trainer here) that they come in every shape and size that we do due to strains. Certain strains have certain characteristics--and I'm not talking about Polish to Egyptian to domestic bred either. I'm talking about the strains within the purest. Like Scheherazade is Saklawi Jedran strain and Shahhh is Kuhaylen Jellabiyat (Jellabiyah if he was a mare). Oh so much I could teach you about Arabs. ^_^

lol ^_^ I know, my husband was the same way at first; sometimes still kinda is. It's a lot to remember but you only need to if it matters for what you're doing with the horses.

OH I have to say that I absolutely love the fire effect at the bottom, its very cool looking. I think the neck is a little stiff, the legs are too long, and the stomach is shaped odd. But the coloring is done quite well.

Oh, why thank you. ^_^ *giggles* Everyone keeps telling me I need to post more of my artwork but I'm really timid about it.

That fire you could say is Scheherazade's staple. lol You all but see it when she runs. I have her trained to run from a standstill and if in top condition, she'll take off and hit 40 MPH with in about 3 er so strides. I know as I've had my mom clock her with the car. lol
