Description

This is my Master Study participation in the 'Master Study to Original - January Challenge' of MasterStudiesAndMore , co-hosted by Inspiring-Creation  and ThatArtGrind ".

I am having some trouble with the coloring of this wolf. If I decide to throw in the towel then this might stand as the final image. The problem is the method I am using, I think, works better with smooth surfaces like skin. I am also a beginner at converting grey scale to color so I am finding it difficult. The fur is creating more of a headache than I though it would. Plus the fur is in different colors. I have found some really  useful videos from Stanley Artgerm on YouTube. If you wondering why I am going greyscale to color its because I get extremely confused with starting in color.

Will see how everything goes....

Thank you for saying that!!!!    I have not done a really detailed image in so long so this was a fun illustration...for the most part. I enjoy doing detailed images more than anything. I think it's because I like the challenge of it.

Thank you!!! It was challenging but doing this was a really big confidence boost because I did not do a detailed image in a while and was not sure if I still 'had it' in me to do but I like the way it came out. Then being able to do it in color was like the icing on top because I was struggling to do color illustrations so all in all I managed to achieve 2 things with this one wolf   I now have major respect for people who can pull off illustrating fur time after time after time likes it's nothing.

The soft background was a good choice to pop the wolf! Like a smoothed version of the wolf fur (and value changes), very good choice!

Woah!!! I would never have walked towards the sound. The most I would do is stare in the direction of the sound and maybe slightly tilt my body in the direction of the sound so I can hear better, lol   You are so lucky they ran in the opposite direction!!!
