Description

The Yūgana's Office, or maybe it's a library. There are books everywhere—in fact, the walls are almost made of them, floor to ceiling, on three sides. The soft glow of several reading lamps, the library kind with the soothing green glass shades, bathes everything in an intimate, warm light. In the far corner is a spiral staircase, the old-fashioned style made of wrought iron; it leads up into the shadows, probably to an upper mezzanine filled with more books. This is a more pleasant area than the AMO complex, which has a machinery smell. This office has the sweeter scent of old paper and leather, tinged somewhere with cedar. Faint music is audible. It's "Night and Day" by Cole Porter.
The Yūgana Office is littered with dusty volumes, ancient artifacts and amulets. It's an office made of books. There's a table with a small work lamp and a 16th century wooden archangel. There's large leather chairs and a fireplace at the center of the office with a large painting of a knight.
This large and beautifully furnished office is mainly kept as a repository for the extensive collection of books and papers on archeology and the supernatural put together by Mr. Yūgana (since he works at AMO).

This is the library I wish I had room for in my house. I was partially inspired by the library at Hatfield House, and I gave it an Art Deco feeling. I think that it's very usual to use these gothic libraries, they can get very boring very fast. But the Deco aspects really give it a nice feel.
